My name is Danielle, and I’m the very proud owner of Once Upon a Bride, nestled in downtown Lethbridge. For almost 24 years, this shop has been more than just a business—it’s been my passion, my legacy, and my pride.
The story of Once Upon a Bride began with a dream. My mom had always envisioned opening a bridal shop, and on April 1, 2001, that dream became a reality when we opened our doors as business partners. While my family was no stranger to running businesses, this was an entirely new venture. One thing we did know, however, was that exceptional customer service would be the heart of everything we did.
Before shows like Say Yes to the Dress made it popular, we had already embraced a full-service, one-on-one experience. From the moment a bride walked through our doors, we were by her side—helping her choose, try on, and fall in love with her perfect gown. We believed (and still do) that every bride deserves to feel cared for and celebrated during this exciting time. It’s not just about finding a dress; it’s about creating a moment—a memory—that she will cherish forever.
Over the years, I’ve been privileged to witness countless “yes” moments—those magical times when a bride finds the dress surrounded by her loved ones. It’s these moments, full of laughter, tears, and joy, that remind me why I love what I do.
Though my mom retired a number of years ago, she remains a cherished part of this journey. She, along with many of our past bridal consultants, is always ready to lend a hand during our big events, like our annual grad dress trunk show or a bridal fashion show. It’s this sense of family—both within our team and with our clients—that makes Once Upon a Bride truly unique.
To all the graduates and brides, past, present, and future, thank you for allowing us to be part of your story. It’s an honor to help you shine during some of life’s most special moments. Cheers to the memories we’ve created and to those still to come!
